I've had my MT10C light for over 3 months. It's been in my right front pocket next to my wallet the entire time. I generally use the 70 lumen setting as it's enough light for most purposes. Being able to easily crank up the output if required is one of the great features. I do use the red led option at night around the house. We got a puppy this Spring and while she was being housebroken there were accidents. Red gave me the ability to see where I was stepping without disturbing others. The ability to use the light itself to tell me how much power it left in the battery is comforting as well. The only drawback I've found is that there isn't any good battery cases that will handle a single 18350 battery as I like to have a spare on me. Currently I'm dealing with the extra bulk of a County Comm 18650 battery case to hold an 18350 plus a CR123 battery as well as that plastic sleeve which is supposed to reduce the rattling when you're using a CR123. I picked up a charger as well so I've got 3 cells in rotation, 1 in the light, 1 in the holder in my pocket and 1 on my nightstand. I'd have been fine with 2 cells but the other charger came with 2 so I wasn't complaining (great deal). While camping last month I did use the light to settle down some kids (junior high to high school age) who were running down the road at the campground at night. 70 lumens was enough to stop them in their tracks as they didn't realize that we (my girlfriend, puppy and myself) were walking on the road ahead of them in the dark. I know that a higher output would have been better but I wanted light RIGHT NOW. It was easy to pull it out of my pocket and hit the switch. Yes, for what's currently out there I consider this to be my perfect EDC light.

Like most Nitecore lights, MT10C is great. The smaller size belies its output! It's just a shorter version of my duty light, MT20C (same controls too), but uses a single RC123 battery instead of two. Run time will depend on capacity/brand of battery & light setting. At max setting actual output is also VERY close to my MT20C at a 40% reduction in overall length. Not a knock on the MT20C by any means, just using it as an example reference. If you want or need a high-output , rugged, capable LED light, give this one a look.

I have a couple Nitecore lights for EDC. I also have lights from Klarus, Olight, Thrunite, and others. This is by far my favorite EDC light, one that I carry every day. I love the up and down brightness buttons, the "candlelight" setting, the red map light setting, and the very, very nice end cap press switch. If I didn't already have all my ARs and shotguns equipped with other lights I'd consider using this one for tactical purposes, too. Yeah. Small, light, bright, tough. Can't go wrong. P.S. -- forgot to mention that this is the 2nd one of these I got. The first one went to a wheelchair buddy who saw me using it and asked for one of his own. I gave him the one connected to my pocket lanyard and ordered another as soon as I got home. I'd do the same thing in an instant.

I love Nitecore lights, I think they are innovators and their lights in general are very well thought out. You get a ton of light from this thing, you could easily blind someone who was trying to attack you, so for self protection it has a lot of value. Get it!!
