Olight s1R2 great little torch. Lasts for ages. Magnetic rechargeable. Moonlight is fantastic when the family goes to bed Nd I turn all the lights out. Thinking of buying a second one. Camping is awesome with the reversible cap clip too.

Olight SR II is a highly anticipated upgraded version of older S1R turbos. There are many discussions in the flashlight light community about this new version. S1R II may not fit your daily EDC needs but definitely a design novelty. S1R II is amazingly more compact (about 3mm shorter) than the S1R Turbo S while the head and body diameter stays the same. While using the similar XML-2 led light bulb, S1R II’s new customized 10C discharge current lithium-manganese battery (IMR16340) can push out warmer 1000 lumen. User interface is similar to S1R Turbo S. Single click of on/off button will turn on the light. While light is on holding the switch will cycle through different light levels and double click will boost the Turbo 1000 lumen. Unlike S1R Turbo S you can not get to 300 lumen directly. I do not think this is a big issue since the light will drop from turbo 1000lm or high 600lm to 300lm in less than 1.5min similar to S1R Turbo S. The upgraded TIR (total internal reflection) lens on S1R II produces more uniform and tighter light pattern than S1R Turbo S. In my experience this has slightly further distance advantage even though both listed effective range of 145 meters at turbo. S1R II has a battery power indicator on the on/off switch light S1R Turbo S. When the power is more than 60% it will show green, which lasts about 10min. Then the indicator will turn yellow when battery power is more than 10% and less 60%. That will last about 20min. The indicator will turn red during the last 10-15min when the power is less than 10% running about 60 lumen or less. Run time is slightly over the listed specification. The MCC II magnetic USB charging cable is upgraded with faster charging rate from the previous version. It can charge the drained IMR16340 battery in 35-40min and it will take the older MCC charging unit almost 55min to fully charge the battery. The light will accept different batteries other than the included IMR16340 battery. I have used Olight RC123A and Tenergy Arlo RC123A without problem. Olight RC123A will also charge with S1R II but I have not tried with Tenergy RC123A. I do not think there is one perfect flashlight for every job. But I believe the new S1R II is definitely a good choice for everyday carry due to its performance and size.
